Greetings from Golden, our second mural in the state of Colorado! This marks our 40th mural on the Greetings Tour after living 4 years on the road traveling and painting across the US. It’s located on the river side of the Golden History Museum & Park commissioned by the museum and the Public Art Committee.
We were thrilled when the Golden History Museum reached out inviting us to paint during their Arts Week during July of 2019. The mission of their Arts Week is to place value on creativity and that’s what we’re all about!
We had previously been in Golden visiting with Denver friends after hiking North Table Mountain. Little did we know, we would be returning to paint the town just a year later! We drove in from the west after spending 4th of July in Steamboat Springs with those same Denver friends. We were all planning to tube down Clear Creek, but the river was closed off due to high water levels. However, we still got to enjoy painting right next to a river which was a first!
We gathered our supplies in town and found our canvas on the side of the history museum perfectly positioned across the trail from Clear Creek. Over the course of the next 6 days, we completed the mural with help from our friends Dominic Corry and Ben Janik. Both artists have worked with us before and it was great having them back with us to help make this mural possible.
We finished on time, after battling through the summer heat and mosquito bites. Thank you to those who stopped by to share their story, to the artists and to Golden History Museum for adding another Greetings mural to our journey across America.
