Kangaroo Island

Kangaroo Island is a serene getaway located just southwest of Adelaide in South Australia. Known for its wildlife and untouched beauty, this is where we started our Honeymoon that went around Australia and New Zealand. To get there, we recommend flying into KI from Adelaide and renting a car at the airport to see everything around the island in 4-5 days. 

We stayed at Snelling Beach in the Cliff House through Lifetime Retreats. The rainbow photo shown above was taken from our patio. Essentially, we had the beach to ourselves! The Great Australian Bight from our window was filled with seals, dolphins and the rolling hills behind us had kangaroos at sunrise and sunset.

The drives are quite long between places on Kangaroo Isalnd, but the journey is filled with beautiful landscapes and animals. Much of this beautiful land was burnt during the devastating fires around Australia just weeks after we visited. Our hearts go out to all the beautiful people and wildlife we encountered through our travels here. We hope this special place is able to heal quickly as possible.
